West Texas HIE Planning Grant RFA (January 30, 2015)

The THSA selected Healthcare Access San Antonio (HASA) to conduct a West Texas HIE readiness assessment and develop a business and operational plan to expand access to robust health information exchange (HIE) services in West Texas counties.

Covered Entity Privacy and Security Certification RFP (September 24, 2013)

The THSA signed a final contract with Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) on September 24, 2013 to assist the THSA in the development and maintenance of the Texas Covered Entity Privacy and Security Certification Program.  The THSA-HITRUST Certification Program is designed to improve the protection of health information for Texans.  In order to be certified, entities will have to show that they have met state and federal privacy and security standards, as codified in 1 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 390

HIE Certification RFP (September 26, 2013)

The THSA signed a final contract with Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) on September 26, 2013 to assist the THSA with HIE accreditation.  The purpose of the HIE Accreditation Program is to show providers and consumers that an independent organization has examined the HIE for privacy issues, security issues, interoperability, and other issue areas and has accredited that they have met best practice requirements.  HIE accreditation will also be required in order to onboard with HIETexas, the THSA's state-level shared services that will support connectivity between Texas HIEs, connectivity with other states and federal agencies through the national eHealth Exchange, and connectivity with state databases.

Communications and Marketing RFQ (January 14, 2013)

THSA has selected the McGuireWoods Consulting and Bravarro to assist with developing health information exchange communications and marketing materials. 

 

THSA State Shared Services RFP (June 29, 2012)

The THSA signed a final contract with InterSystems Corporation on April 1, 2013 to assist the THSA with developing state-level technical infrastructure that will support the private and secure exchange of information between local HIEs within the state and connect Texas to other state HIEs and federal agencies.

 

Legal Services RFQ (June 1, 2012)

The THSA selected Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP to serve as outside legal counsel. Waller, a Tennessee-based firm that opened its Austin, Texas office in July 2012, is recognized as one of the largest healthcare law firms in the United States. 

The THSA also continued its relationship with a Dallas-based firm, Byrne, Cardenas & Aris, that has provided legal support to the THSA since 2010.
